Hand Warts

This problem is found mostly on weight-bearing areas, such as the metatarsal head and heel. When it occurs on the palm, it tends to be subungual or periungual. They begin as small papules and progress to deep round lesions, surrounded by a smooth collar of thickened horn.

The other name for palmoplantar disorder or myrmecia. This type of the disease causes pain, because it grows deep into the plantar surface or into the palm. Extensive involvement may impair ambulation. Malignant changes are rare but have been reported and are termed verrucous carcinoma.
