This unpleasant condition is usually caused by certain strains of human papilloma virus. Infection affects the skin and mucous membranes; it can occur in any age, but increases in teenagers. The disease is asymptomatic on early stages. It may cause cosmetic disfigurement and tenderness. Malignant change is rare. To remove warts is the general solution, with cervical dysplasia or ASCUS tissue of the cervix, it can be managed.
